Six educational awareness documentaries, in the field of biodiversity and environment, the title\n\u2018Trots op ons bos\u2019 were produced in collaboration with the National Foundation Children Books\nFestival Suriname. Next to the incorporation of sign language and English text, a compilation of\nthose six documentaries were made.<\/p>\n

2. Biodiversity Awareness Campaign: Savannahs

Via the National UNESCO Commission Suriname (NUCS) the Foundation SOBA\nreceived a grant for the production of two documentaries, in Dutch and English,\nabout the savannahs of Suriname with the title: Strolling through the savannahs of\nSuriname part 1 and 2 (white sand, brown sand and rock savannahs).The\ndocumentaries were presented to the ministry of Education, Science and Culture in\nthe form of DVDs to be distributed to the colleges throughout the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Justification study Coronie Freshwater Swamp<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Magnificent Mangroves<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

A book Magnifieke Mangroves (Magnificent Mangroves) was translated to Dutch\nfrom the original English version and additional information about the mangroves of Suriname added by the co-author. This was performed in collaboration with\nMangrove Action Program, UNDP-Suriname & WWF-Suriname. The co-author is the\nfounder of the SOBA Foundation and photographs from her personal field collection were added to the text.<\/p>\n

The theme of the documentary series is: The Sea, The Environment, Our\nSurvival, Our Future! This first phase consists of 4 short documentaries about the sea expeditions to the mouths of the Suriname- and the Marowijne River. In preparation are the expeditions to the mouths of the Coppename- and the Corantijn Rivers, and the Bigi Pan Nature Reserve.<\/p>\n

Different organizations and individuals have contributed to these outcomes, such as, SCF (Principal donor), Marisa Fisheries NV, NBBM, Conservation International Suriname, DP World.<\/p>\n
